Fractional CIO / Enterprise Architect

Boulder, CO

Founder-operator and enterprise architect with 23+ years building, scaling, and fixing technology systems. I bring something most fractional executives don't: I've been the person building and running the systems, not just advising on them.

  • Built an ERP SaaS platform from scratch and bootstrapped it to ~80 clients across most US states over 14 years; no outside funding, no board
  • Ran every business function simultaneously: architecture, development, security, sales, client delivery, and team leadership
  • Operated as COO of an early-stage startup, building the technology stack and operational SOPs from zero
  • Right now I'm focused on helping growing organizations get their operations dialed in through cybersecurity assessments, real disaster recovery verification (we actually restore it), systems integration, and responsible AI implementation

  • Run real disaster recovery verification through actual backup restores, not policy document reviews

  • Built as an AI-native firm from day one; every governance practice we recommend, we run internally first
  • Designed and built Matchkeyz, a privacy-first AI community platform on Blazor/SQL Server; hands-on proof of the AI governance I bring to client engagements

InReach Solutions

Woodstock, GA / Portland, OR

  • Managed PII-sensitive data (adoption and foster care records) across varying state regulatory requirements for over a decade
  • Ran every business function simultaneously: architecture, development, product management, marketing, founder-led sales, client delivery, and support
  • Advised agencies on broader technology strategy, infrastructure decisions, and security practices; became their trusted technology partner

Beyond the Work

I write about operational resilience, cybersecurity readiness, and AI governance on LinkedIn and the Solanasis blog. I speak at startup and community-building events; building communities is something I keep coming back to.

Father of two. Passionate about education reform and living intentionally. Outside of work, I'm usually on a trail with my dog somewhere around Boulder.
